7th rebuttal; video/action for goldenrod
(VIDEO)
[ For once, Naegi's trademark hoodie is nowhere to be seen. This is worth mentioning because he is a person who is willing to lie about the hoodie doubling as a safety helmet just to keep Ishimaru from taking it. But there are days when it's too hot to be wearing a hoodie and today is one of those days.
...Which is why he's wearing an abomination of a short-sleeved hoodie instead. Because that's how this protagonist rolls. Judging from the background of the video, he's somewhere in a park and the BGM is a giveaway that said park is in Goldenrod. ]
...You know, there's one thing I've been wondering for a while. I've never been to the cave since it's over in Kanto and I haven't even seen one for myself, so...
[ Pause. ]
What does the rest of a Diglett's body look like? You only ever see the head, but there has to be something hidden beneath the ground.
[ Naegi asks the most important questions, apparently. It's one of those things that suddenly occurred to him and it refused to leave him alone, hence why he's asking the network. ]
(ACTION)
[ Anyone who happens to be out and about in Goldenrod might find him in the aforementioned park, where he's currently training his Scolipede to catch a frisbee. So don't be surprised if you see a giant murderbug go after a flying disc at speeds you wouldn't expect from something so bulky. Sometimes she misses her target but when she does manage to catch it... well, she basically does this (pretend it's not a shiny, okay) and looks pleased as hell.
If you need some sort of hook, maybe said frisbee is about to hit your character in the head. c: ]

[Video] that isn't an abomination it's a masterpiece of clothing that's what it is
[Chihiro seems to mull that over for a moment, but once he continues he doesn't look any closer to an answer.]
Well I....I've never seen one in person, either. Only pictures in books, and in the Pokedex.
Nobody knows what the rest of it looks like? ...it never...comes above ground beyond... just the head?
[It has to have....legs or something, right? He can't really imagine it being just an oblong tube of a creature without cringing.]

Maybe we should pull it out...

But Riku's not really in the mood for that. Instead, he grins at the camera, leaning close and speaking in a semi-hushed tone.]
Maybe it's hiding an eldritch abomination beneath the ground. Could just be biding its time for the right moment to strike...
[And then he shrugs.]
Funny thing is, I don't think I've ever seen any books on what's down there. No research articles. It's like the locals just don't care to look.
video
[ He's picturing some kind of Godzilla-like creature lurking underground and nearly shudders at the thought. ]
So no one's ever tried to...I don't know, pull one out of the ground?
video
[He rubs his chin, brow furrowing in thought.]
Back when I had a Dugtrio, I tried pulling it out, but it just wouldn't budge. Add that to the fact that it hit me with Earthquake later, and I decided to steer clear. Still, you'd think they'd at least find some other way to handle it. Maybe go under the ground and try to examine it that way.

focus on the science question]
...You know, I really do have to wonder --- particularly given what its evolution is like. I think that's the one I'm more curious about, honestly, given that there is a chance that whatever's under there suddenly grew two extra heads.
no subject
According to the Pokédex, Dugtrio is a team of triplets that split from one body. But apparently all three heads think exactly the same thoughts, so they're not like Doduo.
...I wonder how they even figured out the splitting thing if no one's seen its body.
no subject
Still, I think that you could run some sort of experiment to see if Dugtrio are functionally a hivemind without seeing what their actual bodies look like, so there's that, at least.

[IT COULD BE A POKE-LOVECRAFTIAN. But seriously, now that Atsuro's reminded of this, he's thinking about it as well.
Hm...he vaguely remember someone's Diglett on a wheelchair...]
[ A bit boring, maybe, but at least it's not terrifying. ]
[As long it's not true, it's all in good fun.]
But it is weird there's no records or anyone mentioning about Diglett's body. You'd think researchers would want to know as much about their body as possible.

[...what the hell is this actually decent response, Hagakure. Where are the stupid ideas?? Apparently he decided to have something resembling a brain today.
Except he's just being redundant since he didn't read the comments. So maybe there's still hope of stupid ideas.]

That said, I have to wonder how they're in the Pokéball... or how they battle at the sea.

I get the feeling that it would sink if you'd sent it out to battle at sea. Has anyone actually done that before?
