[...well, at least there's the small favor in that Ishimaru's not doing this at hideous o'clock in the morning, as he'd wanted to; he'd managed to hold off for a few hours before morbid curiosity had gotten the best of him. It wasn't unheard of for him to not see Naegi for decent periods of time, but after last weekend...well.

He still doesn't like how everything's going all staticky, though, so text it is.]

Naegi-kun - if you could get in contact with me whenever you can, that would be greatly appreciated.

[ Thank Arceus for small blessings. Naegi tends to get up at 7 in the morning, mostly out of habit. It's a routine Monobear more or less had drilled into him during those weeks inside the school -- and during his first few days in Johto, he learned that it was better to get up with the sun and use the light hours of the day to travel so sleeping in wasn't something he did often.

Naegi's response comes approximately ten minutes after receiving Ishimaru's. ]

Hey, Ishimaru-kun. Did something happen?

[...Well, uh, he was not anticipating quite this level of "What happens now", hang on.

Ishimaru hesitates for a moment, not sure how to proceed; he's not really in the practice of writing to people casually - he'd had a phone, but that was only for emergencies and it was stunningly easy to not text people when you had no contacts besides - and he's pretty sure just...essaying at Naegi won't be too appreciated. He's had maybe two conversations over text in Johto, and those weren't things he'd initiated.

Hm.]

Yes. At least, I think something happened.

Are you all right?

I'm fine. What happened, Ishimaru-kun?

I'm not sure. I know there was a lot of strangeness over the last weekend, and I haven't seen you since. Things are still strange, from what I can tell, but it seems to be calming down. It was troubling me.

No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to remember much of the weekend. It's a little worrying. Also, for some reason I've...warped to Ectrueak City.

Oowada-kun seems to remember better than I do; he says my behavior was very odd for those three days. I can't do much but take his word for it at this point since I don't recall doing anything, much less anything bizarre.

As for Ecruteak...that's several days from here, isn't it? Are you all right where you are - there isn't anything directly threatening that you're aware of?

I'm all right, really! Just a bit confused. Sometimes things around me look a little strange, sort of like a computer glitch or something. Do you think that has anything to do with our PokéGears not working properly earlier?

[He'll disregard the first question for now in favor of focusing on the second; there's more there that he knows how to respond to without things getting strange, and he'd told Oowada he wouldn't ask Naegi about this - ]

We're experiencing that here, too, with things glitching that likely shouldn't be. It's like some sort of simulation gone wrong, I don't know what could be causing it - it's likely best to stay where we are for the time being, especially if this place is sending people to random locations. If we were to try to meet up again now, we have no way of knowing where we might end up, and with the luck we've been having the PokéGears will go down again immediately after.

As for your earlier question, I don't know how to explain it; he gave me a physical description that made very little sense.

[He pauses for a moment before sending another message.]

Do you know anything about Ishida - does that name make sense to you?

That sounds like a good idea, at least for the time being. I'm thinking of either returning to Goldenrod as soon as things go back to normal, or making a detour to Violet and challenge the gym there.

The name makes sense to me. [ Oh boy, what the hell happened during the weekend? ]

Be sure to let me know what you decide - I would like to have some sort of record of it, at least!

I'm told that Ishida was here last weekend, and that some strange claims were made, that's all.
