[ The spoiler bomb Asahina dropped on him last month has been difficult to deal with, for understandable reasons; it's not anything a teenager (or anyone) should ever have to deal with. Talking to Ishimaru has done wonders, as did taking his time to absorb everything. Monobear never gave them the time they needed back inside the school so in a way, just...having that is great. It's still a heavy weight to carry, but he's back on his feet and ready to keep walking forward.

Naegi is much more resilient than he thinks he is, and he has his friends.

That said, he decided to buy a camera as a way to deal with his amnesia. It's a long shot given he has no idea how the memories were even removed to begin with, but he's hoping to make memories of the forgotten years resurface by creating and preserving new ones; and if it doesn't work, he will still have these new ones with him. New, happy memories of his friends. If he can have that, he's pretty much content. ]

[ People in Violet City may run into Naegi and his entourage of Pokémon today. All of his Pokémon are out of their Pokéballs and judging from the camera he's holding, he's trying to get his band of critters to pose for a group picture.

It's...not going too well. He has over ten of them and half of them start doing their own thing as soon as Naegi turns his back. ]

Yumie, stay still for a second, please? [ The Togetic chirps, tilting its head. If the birdthing could talk, it would say something like "Boo, that's boring, why are we doing this? :<" ]

Kagura, stop pretending to be Ishimaru-kun...

[ While Naegi was trying to talk Yumie into staying still, his Zorua took the opportunity to create its illusion. Apparently being a certain kid is a new favourite past time. "Ishimaru" barks at Naegi and then proceeds to weird out the general vicinity by staring at anyone walking by. The illusion itself is rather convincing, but the lack of blinking sends the entire thing right into the uncanny valley. ]

[ Bigger version here. 'Sup, network, today Naegi decided to showcase one of the photos he's taken. In case you can't tell, the photo features a Dragonair and a Ducklett flying above a tree. ~~Yes, I got lazy and used a custom brush for the clouds.~~

The video shows Naegi sitting on a bench somewhere in Violet and he seems to be in a good mood today, judging by the small smile on his lips. The Dragonair from the picture is curled up beside him and occasionally a snore can be heard from it. ]

Midori evolved into Dragonair today. Isn't she beautiful? I think she was really looking forward to it because she took flight as soon as she evolved. Although I don't really understand how she can fly with those wings. I'm guessing that's just another case of Johto being Johto, huh?

[ There's no logic to how things operate in Pokéworld, really. After almost four months in Johto, Naegi's able to shrug it off as nothing out of the ordinary. His Togetic can fly without flapping its wings so he can accept the head wings. At least they're not Victini's butt wings. ]

I bought a camera so I could capture moments like this one. I'm not really a good photographer, but I like how this one came out and I think it's a great way to preserve memories of my time here.

Speaking of memories, I'd like hear about yours! I know a lot of you want to go home as soon as possible, but I'm sure you've had some good times in this world, too. Things like making new friends, or just enjoying the sights.

[ No, really, tell him about all the positive things Johto has brought you. Having said that, he reaches over to cut the feed. ]

Right, you're Ishimaru's friend! Right? From his school. I think we kept missing each other the last time we were all in the same city.

[As far as Parker is concerned Ishimaru is a paragon of social function. Naturally he has made non-Dangan friends because naturally he makes friends with everyone because he is an example to us all that way.

Suggesting otherwise will probably get you hit with a chair, who knows.]

I guess now that stuff's not getting in the way, it'll be a lot easier to talk. That's why we left, we had...stuff to do.

Parker mentioning they had to stuff to do makes Naegi raise and eyebrow, though he doesn't ask what she means; when he watched the news he figured his friends may have been involved with the recent events. He'll ask Ishimaru or Mondo about it, whoever replies first. ]

Glad to hear you got that stuff out of the way, whatever it is. [ Right, he probably should steer the topic away in a different direction. ] Um, how did you become friends? With Ishimaru-kun, I mean.

[OH OH THIS IS A GREAT STORY PARKER LOVES THIS STORY.]

He was standing around in Goldenrod appreciating the sky! Just standing still and looking at it and there were tears all over his face and stuff. And snot. Like rivers of snot. So I went to go see what he was looking at, 'cause it was just sky. You know. Just up there...waiting to be appreciated.

So we appreciated the sky for awhile and talked about video games and school and ritual suicide and then I guess we were friends.

[SIMPLE.]

[ UM. OKAY. THAT IS. CERTAINLY A UNIQUE WAY TO MAKE A NEW FRIEND. ]

Wait, why were you two talking about ritual suicide?

Because it's not the thing you stick on the end of someone's name to be respectful.

[ NAEGI is CONFUSED. ]

[Parker is frequently SUPER EFFECTIVE at that.]

You know, honor...if...ics? They're not ritual suicide.

[ ...Naegi is starting to understand how she became friends with Ishimaru. ]

How do you go from honorifics to ritual suicide? They're two different things.

[They understand each other like few people can.]

They're both about honor, though, right?

Well, yeah, but one's about showing respect and politeness and the other one is about disemboweling yourself to protect your honor...

[ Wow, this conversation sure turned awkward in less than five minutes. Way to make a first impression, Parker. ]

That's why it was important! I didn't want him disemboweling himself all over the place just to be nice to me. We were in public.

[To say nothing of the fact that, let's be real, if you had to pick one person in Johto to be put in the class yearbook as Most Likely To Disembowel Himself Because He Failed To Achieve Some Given Standard of Honor, Ishimaru at first impression is probably easily in the top three list of finalists.]

Somebody would have to clean that up.

S...stabbing yourself isn't something you do to be nice, you know. And I really did not need that mental image.

[ He doesn't mean to sound a bit irritated but he can't help it. He's seen Ishimaru dead on the floor with blood matting his hair so the thought of him eviscerating himself is not a pleasant one; it only makes him nauseous. ]

Fortunately, being on video means Parker at least stands a chance of assessing that she's said something wrong, and even if she can't instantly pinpoint what it is (maybe he's just a squeamish kid?) that's bugging him, or what the social faux pas was of saying what she'd said, she does at least get that he's been put off.

So if she stares quietly for a bit too long there, it's just because she's going over all that and trying to assess what someone with social competence would say here.]

[ The silence and the staring makes Naegi feel a little bad -- he's positive she meant no harm and she couldn't have known that it was something he wouldn't be comfortable with at all. Maybe he should've just steered the topic away without making her think she did something wrong. ]

Huh? [ He blinks, confusion evident in his face. ] Um...thanks. I like it a lot, too.
